Former Mayor of Mansfield Dies at Elks' Home
A dispatch late Tuesday afternoon states that George A. Clugson, former mayor of Mansfield, for a number of years at the Elk National Home at Bedford City, VA, died this afternoon. The body will be brought here for burial.

George A. Clugston, banker; he was born October 5, 1842, in Franklin Co., PA and came to Ashland county in 1849. He received a liberal education and engaged in teaching, in all three years. He came to Mansfield in March 1863; read law with Henry Hedges; was in Provost Marshal's office fourteen months; also Deputy Clerk in office of Probate Judge; he was admitted to the bar in 1865, by District Court held at Bucyrus, and in U.S. Court in 1867, at Cleveland; continued in practice till October 1873 when he was appointed Cashier of the Farmers' National Bank, and continues to hold that position; held the office of City Clerk of City of Mansfield in 1872-1878. He was married, January 1, 1867, to Sarah M. Larimer, who was born in Mansfield where she has always lived.
