Charlotte was born July 30, 1931, in Wilmington, daughter of the late William Edward and Hazel Luetta Collins Michael.
She was the sixth child of fifteen children: seven girls and eight boys. They called her "Bugs" when she was growing up. She also had two stepbrothers that she rarely saw until she became an adult.
She is survived by three sons, four daughters, six grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews that she considered her own. She always remembered everyone in her extended family with a birthday card, and hosted many family cook-outs and celebrations. She liked feeding the birds, especially her favorite cardinals, and was able to hand feed neighborhood squirrels. She enjoyed drawing, writing prose and poetry, and playing cards.
Charlotte was a member of the Wilmington Eagles #1224 Ladies' Auxiliary and enjoyed participating in the community service projects and marching in Memorial Day parades. At one time she was a member of the local CB club and her "handle" was "Ladybug". Many of the friends she made continued to use her nickname after the club dissolved. She was a homemaker and a lifetime member of Ada Chapel.
Services were held at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, with Larry Barker officiating. Burial was in Sugar Grove Cemetery, where all present joined in a balloon launch to commemorate her life. Family gathered at the Eagle's Lodge to share food and fellowship.
