Services for Lela Harris age 99, of Palestine will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Rev. Craig Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Land of Memory Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster. Mrs. Harris died Tuesday at Dogwood Trails Assisted Living. She was born June 22, 1915 in Anderson County to John Walter and Pearl Cook Kelley. Mrs. Harris was a homemaker. She was a longtime member of Norwood Heights Baptist Church. Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Virgil Harris in 2012, a son Larry Don Harris, three sisters, Erma Lackland, Evelyn Butler and Thelma Beane, three brothers, Arnold Kelley, Conard Kelley and Lloyd Kelley. She is survived by her daughter Judy Foree and husband Ken, of Lewisville, son John Harris and wife Linda of Palestine, Daughter-in-law Fran Harris of Pert, sister Mildred Moore and husband Proctor of Palestine, and sister-in-law Mary Shoemaker of Shreveport. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Kevin Harris and wife Kelly, Craig Harris and wife Jodi, Lezlee Neel and husband Gregg, Stephanie Miley and husband Robert and Claudia Ford, nine great grandchildren, Travis Neel, Kristyn Neel, David Harris, Kody Harris, Savannah Harris, Tanner Harris, Payton Harris, Memphis Ford and Monica Miley, and one great great grandchild Landen Neel. Pallbearers will be Travis Neel, Kody Harris, David Harris, Tanner Harris, Kelley Moore, and Memphis Ford. Condolence calls will be received from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
