Born in Duncannon, she was the daughter of the late George Washington and Mary Virginia (Keel) Peters.

Emma was preceded in death by her husband: David E. Shetron, Sr.; and, her son, Eugene D. Peters.

Surviving are her daughters: Tina L. Cassel of Enola, Carol Wolfe of Ickesburg and Naomi Westbrook of Steelton; her sons: Robert C. Filson, Jr. of Enola, Shane E. Shetron of Mifflin, David E. Shetron, Jr. of Honey Grove; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and, a sister: Lucille Keys of Enola.
