James Daniel Eason known as "Danny" age 82, of Murrells Inlet, went home to be with the Lord on July 15, 2014.

Born May 23, 1932 in Murrells Inlet, SC, he was the son of the late Edwin and Irene McCall Eason. Danny served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was a lifetime resident of the Murrells Inlet Community. Danny carried on the mercantile tradition that was brought to Murrells Inlet by his grandfather, Alton Eason, over 115 years ago. Danny was best known for owning and operating Gasoline Alley for almost thirty years. He was a member of Belin Memorial United Methodist church for over 80 years.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Harward Eason; his stepmother, Lorine Brown Eason; Two sisters, Irma Eason Phifer, and Shirley Irene Eason Wehunt and two brothers, Jack McCall Eason and Charles Eason.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Betty Rabon Eason; two daughters, Julie Danielle Eason Rosnack (David) of Murrells Inlet and Jenifer Thompkins (Patrick) of Garden City; One son, Jamie Thompkins (Pam) of Conway; 9 grandchildren, Jeni Ivey (Scott) of Rocky Mount, NC, Jake Thompkins (Brea) of Myrtle Beach, Jessica Angus of Charleston, SC, Taylor Thompkins of Conway, Jillian Campbell of Murrells Inlet, Ryan Angus of Garden City, Madalyn Rosnack of Murrells Inlet, Lily Rosnack of Murrells Inlet and James Eason Rosnack of Murrells Inlet; 2 great grandchildren, Tegan Ivey of Rocky Mount, NC and Eli Thompkins of Myrtle Beach; 5 brothers, Bill Eason (Linda) of Yorktown, VA, Ken Eason (Judy) of Wilmington, NC, Tom Eason (Linda) of Murrells Inlet, David Eason (Frances) of Murrells Inlet and Frank Eason of Myrtle Beach; 1 sister, Carolyn Eason Brooks of Panama City, FL and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Belin Memorial United Methodist Church on Friday, July 18, 2014
beginning at 12:00 with family receiving friends in the fellowship hall (refreshments). Memorial service will follow at 1:30 in the sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Belin Memorial United Methodist Church, 4182 Hwy. 17 Business Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
