Dennis Chapman, 60, who caused a mild sensation in County court Monday when he disappeared from his place in the jury box during a trial, died suddenly at 9 o'clock Thursday night at his home in Belle Isle.

Mr. Chapman was serving on the jury in the trial of Edward Brown, but disappeared mysteriously after the morning session of court. Late that night he arrived home, but did not remember having sat on the jury.

Since his return, he appeared in his usual health. He was stricken suddenly ill when about to go to bed Thursday and died within a few minutes. Death is believed to have resulted from heart disease.

Mr. Chapman leaves two daughters, Mrs. Frank Lawton of Belle Isle and Mrs. Charles Francisco of Auburn; a son Charles Chapman of Belle Isle; three brothers, John, Hiram and Isaac Chapman; and two sisters, Mrs. Julius Wolf of Marcellus Falls and Mrs. Samanthy Atkins of this city.

Funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home and at 2:30 o'clock in the Belle Isle M. E. church.
