Gerald Rondal "Jerry" Holt, 72, of Jackson, TN, died Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at the Bells Nursing & Rehab Center in Bells, TN. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 12:00 PM at the Cypress United Methodist Church, 539 Cypress Church Road, near Bells, TN. Visitation will be Saturday, August 2, 2014 from 10:00 AM until service time at 12:00 PM. Inurnment will follow in the Cypress United Methodist Cemetery.

Jerry was born January 24, 1942 in Alamo, TN to the late Albert Curtis and Syble Marie Forsythe Holt. He was a hairdresser in Jackson, TN for 50+ years and was the owner of Coiffures Hair Studio. Jerry was the first person in Tennessee to join the Peace Corps and was stationed in Washington, DC and Puerto Rico. He was a longtime member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Jackson, TN.

Jerry is survived by his sister, Sheila H. (Kelley) Swearingen of Dresden, TN; a brother, Rev. John A. (Robbie) Holt of Memphis, TN; two nieces, Michelle (Paul) Horton of McKenzie, TN and Shelley H. Swearingen of Dresden, TN; a great niece, Shelby Horton of McKenzie, TN; and a great nephew, Lane Horton of McKenzie, TN.
