Curtis Ackiss Gregory, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2013 at New Hanover Regional Hospital at the age of 65. Mr. Gregory was born in Elizabeth City to the late Ackiss Love Gregory and Geneva Ownley Gregory. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Affairs, an active member of St. Andrew's On-the-Sound Episcopal Church and a real estate agent of Southeast NC. He worked alongside his surviving wife of almost 44 years, Patricia Berry Gregory, as co-owner of Patricia Gregory Educational Consulting. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, entertaining, and most of all spending time with family and friends. Mr. Gregory is also survived by his daughter, Natalie Guy, her husband, David Guy, two granddaughters, Olivia Helen Guy and Lauren Patricia Guy; son, John Curtis Gregory and Bethanie Forbes; sister, Helen Fay Winslow and husband, Arland Winslow; sister Margaret Ann Bright and husband, Shell Bright; and cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 1:00 p.m., June 8, 2013 at St. Andrew's On-the-Sound Episcopal Church, 101 Airlie Road Wilmington, NC 28403 with The Reverend Richard Elliot officiating. A reception for visitation will immediately follow the service in the Parish Hall. Flowers or donations are welcomed. Donations may be made to St. Andrew's On-the-Sound Building Fund, 101 Airlie Road Wilmington, NC 28403.
