Died when the HMAS was suck by Japanese warships off the coast of Indonesia.
As he jumped off the sinking ship holding the hand of his mate Allan Gee, he said "see you at Young and Jacksons". Young and Jacksons Hotel, Melbourne. Unfortunately Moggy could not swim and was swept to his death by the fast flowing currents.
