Lucy Massie Campbell, 104, of Waynesboro, went to be with the Lord on July 14, 2014. She was born November 23, 1909 in Piney River to John and Argyl Massie.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Gilbert Campbell; two daughters, Ruth King and Katherine Proffitt; four sons, Austin, George Jr., Fred, and James Campbell.

Lucy was a devoted charter member of Central Baptist Church in Waynesboro. She will be especially remembered for her love of the Lord, devotion to family, and passion for gardening.

Lucy is survived by sons John G. Campbell of Chesterfield and Ronnie A. Campbell of Waynesboro; 20 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Central Baptist Church, Waynesboro, by Rev. Vernon Berry. Interment will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at McDow Funeral Home.
