Geneva C. Bowen, 87
CHEBEAGUE ISLAND -- Geneva C. Bowen, 87, died Thursday, March 1, 2007, at the Barron Center in Portland.
She was born on Chebeague Island on May 14, 1919, and attended Chebeague Island schools, graduating from Chebeague Island High School in 1936. She also attended the Golden School of Beauty Culture.
Geneva was a lifetime member of the Chebeague United Methodist Church, the Chebeague Island Historical Society, and the Chebeague Island Council.
She was predeceased by her husband, Clyde Bowen.
Surviving are two sons, Marshall Bowen and Meredith "Med" Bowen, both of Chebeague Island; a brother, Lawrence Bennett of Portland; and six stepgrandchildren.
Visiting hours will be 2-5 p.m., Sunday, March 4, at the Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State St., Portland. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 5, at the Chebeague United Methodist Church. Burial will be later in the spring at Chebeague Island Cemetery.
