Donato, Jeanne 86, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, April 16, 2010, in Fredericksburg, The family celebrated a funeral Mass on Tuesday, April 20 at 10am, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Stonewall, with Rev. Jim Harnan officiating. DeAnn Hampton was the organist and Lottie Demel the vocalist. Jeanne was laid to rest next to her husband in Greenwood Cemetery. The family received friends on Monday evening, April 19, at Fredericksburg Funeral Home. She was born on September 13, 1923, in Rochester, NY, the daughter of Joseph D'Angelo and Anna Ange D'Angelo. She married Peter Donato on June 26, 1948 in Rochester, NY. Jeanne was a registered nurse who eventually went on to get her masters and become the director of Nursing Education for St. Ann s, a 200 bed nursing home in Rochester. After retirement, the Donato's spent winters in Sun City, FL. In 2001, they moved to Fredericksburg to be with their daughters. After Pete's passing in 2005, Jeanne became active in the Golden Hub Community Center and really enjoyed her friends there. Besides the Golden Hub, her animals were her joy. She is survived by her daughters. Patricia Marie Donato and Lynda Donato, her precious doggie and companion, Sally and her loving caregiver, Christina Lippert. Arrangements under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.
