Rickey Lynn Watson, age 64, died December 31, 2011. He was born on July 8, 1947. He is survived by his wife, Maureen Watson, a son and a daughter.
He graduated from Gainesville High School (GHS) in 1965 where he played on the high school football team in his sophomore and junior years. He also was on the basketball and track team as a sophomore.
After high school, Rickey served his country bravely as a member of the U.S. Navy for four years. He went on to serve his local community for almost 30 years thereafter as a member of the Gainesville Fire Department where he was a driver/operator.
