Obituary: Peter Walter, aged 63, a business man of Braddock for several decades, died yesterday at his home, 234 Rebecca st., North Braddock, from Dropsy. Mr. Walter was born in Allegheny, the son of John N. Walter, a merchant. The family removed from Allegheny to Green Springs, opposite Braddock, and 55 years ago to Braddock. He entered the employ of the Edgar Thompson Steel works when the plant started in 1874. He resigned and went into the grocery business in North Braddock, in which he remained until a dozen years ago when he became a traveling salesman. He was one of the oldest members of the St Thomas Catholic church and a member of the Maccabees and the United Commerical Travelers association. He was married on August 15, 1872 to Miss Mildred Catherine Wilson, who died two years ago. Mr. Walter is survived by three children, William E. Walter, Mrs. Charles J. Fulton and Miss Catherine Mildred Walter. There are also two sisters and four brothers, Mrs. Mary Koelsch and Mrs. Catherine Blotzer of Braddock; Joseph Walter of Chambersburg, Pa.; Nicholas Walter of Sault ste Marie, Canada; Jacob of Braddock and George Walter of Crestas terrace.
