Ausborn married Margaret Jane Kennedy of Auraria, Lumpkin County, Georgia on on October 2nd 1840. Jane as she was known, was a daughter of Henry C. and "Patsy" [née Cole] Kennedy. The union between Ausborn and Jane would have eleven known children:
