Born on September 12, 1910, near Akron, she was the daughter of Ray and Leora (Waite) Berry. She attended schools in Akron and later graduated from Winfield High School in 1928.
She was united in marriage to Donald B. Snyder on June 12, 1929 in Winfield. The couple made their first home east of Winfield. In 1943, the couple moved to Burden where they farmed. Mr. Snyder preceded her in death on May 25, 2003.
Leona was a member of the Burden United Methodist Church. She enjoyed flowers and music.
Her family includes: Her sons: Roger Snyder and wife Cina of Burden, KS; and Jerry Snyder and wife Margaret of Scott City, KS; Her sister: Janie Snell and husband Marvin of Arkansas City, KS; Her 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Ray Snyder; her brothers, Bob Berry and Raymond Berry; and her sister, Helen Baker.
Private funeral services will be held.
