Lois D. Keene-Sanders

Lois Diane (Betzold) Keene-Sanders was born in Boise, Idaho, July 15, 1933, to Kenneth Frederick Betzold and Mildred Eulalia Hardisty. She passed away at her home in Emmett, Idaho, on July 9, 2014, with her family by her side.
Lois spent her early childhood in Barber, Idaho then moved to Emmett, Idaho when she was nine years old. She had three brothers, Gene, Jim, and Gary.
Lois married Warren Harris in 1949 and had three children, Warren, Mike, and Linda. Her daughter Linda was killed in a car accident at the age of thirty three.
In 1956, she married James David Keene and had a daughter, Lorene who died at birth, and then two sons, Joey and Kenny. Lois and Jim were married forty years before Jim passed away suddenly in 1996.
Lois met Marvin Sanders in 2000 and they were married shortly after in 2001. They enjoyed spending time together, shopping, gardening, and traveling to the Oregon Coast. Lois also enjoyed a relationship with Marvin's children Gordy and Judy. Marvin passed away in January 2014 after thirteen years of marriage.
Lois is survived by her children, Warren Harris, Mike (Robin) Harris, Joey (Tonya) Keene, Kenny (Megan) Keene; her grandchildren Christy (Chris) Peterson, Jodie Harris, Warren Harris, Brandi (Lloyd) Arnold, Nikki (Aaron) Ganz, Sonnie and Autumn Griffiths, Tracy, Katie, and Kellie Harris, Kurtis and Kevin Keene, Laurel, Spencer, and Amelia Keene; as well as seven great grandchildren; her brothers, Jim (Katherine) Betzold and Gary (Ardith) Betzold; special nephew and wife Fred and Susan Betzold, and good friend Pat Scott.
She was preceded in death by husband Marvin Sanders, Jim Keene, daughters Linda and Lorene, grandson Joey Keene, brother Gene Betzold, daughter in law Karen Harris, and close cousin Alice Allen.
Lois worked as a floor lady for Sanders Fruit Ranch and then for Emmett Valley Fruit in the packing sheds. She loved that job and loved all of the friends she made while working.
Lois also loved and loved taking care of her children and grandchildren first and foremost and she wanted them to remember that always. They all loved her back and were able to show it by taking care of her until the end. She will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Lois's graveside service will be held on Friday, July 18, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the Emmett Cemetery in Emmett, Idaho. Services are under the direction of the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett. A lunch will follow at The First Baptist Church 126 S. Hayes, in Emmett, Idaho.
