Donald Lee Correll, age 83, of Asheboro died Sunday, July 13, 2014 at the Randolph Hospice House.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Grays Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, 5056 NC Hwy 22 North, Franklinville with Rev. Nathan Snider officiating and with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
Mr. Correll was born in Tiffin, OH on June 8, 1931 to Ralph and Imagene Davis Correll. Donald served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Union Carbide after more than 25 years of service and was a member of Grays Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife Janna Vee Correll, brother Ralph Correll, and half-brother Larry Wayne Taylor.
He is survived by his daughters, Lynn Rucinski and husband Ed of Climax, Jan Correll and husband Shayne Leathers of Cary; grandchildren, Lori Baldwin and husband Jeb of Climax, Mark Rucinski and wife Meredith of High Point, Jeffrey Rucinski and girlfriend Jennifer Thornton of Climax; great grandchild, Melanie Baldwin of Climax; sister, Jean Marie Hills of Tennessee; and half-sister, Georgia Fisher of Pekin, IL.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
The family requests that only potted plants be sent in Donald's memory.
