QUANAH - Lee Kent Womack passed away Feb. 8, 2006, of congestive heart failure in Wichita Falls.

He was born May 30, 1941, to Lee H., and Lynda R. Womack in San Antonio. He graduated from Wichita Falls High School, where he was involved in student council and was the vice president of the thespian club. He attended University of Texas, where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha order. He married Catherine Crump in 1963 and they had two daughters.

He has called Hardeman County his home since 1974. For the last 10 years he owned the golf pro shop at the Quanah country club. His 10 years in Quanah were the happiest of his life. The people of Quanah embraced him like family, and we are eternally grateful.

He is preceded by his father, Lee Womack and his sister, Bettye Lyn Womack Smith. He is survived by his mother, Lynda Womack of Wichita Falls, his daughters Catherine (Paxton) Longwell and Beth (Hank) Cunningham of Corpus Christi, Texas, and his grandchildren, Madison, Harrison, Paxton David, Elizabeth, Hank, Dallas and baby Grace, all of Corpus Christi.

We want to express a special thank you to the nurses and doctors at the Wichita Falls Hospice, particularly Pam, Nicki, Juanita, Connie and Natalie. He loved each and every one of his nurses like daughters. We are so grateful Daddy had such loving people to tend to him. And also to all the people of Quanah, his many friends and neighbors who were there for him this last year, a special thank you. Without the love and support of so many people, Daddy would not have lived as long or as comfortably as he did. He loved you all.

The funeral will be held at 11 am, Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Quanah with the Rev. Clint Young, minister, First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorials be sent to the Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls 76310.

Pallbearers will be Keith Carlton, Ben Wilson, Baxter Featherston, Charlie Sparkman, Monte Annell, Clovis Daniel and Bill Huskinson.
