Travis King, age 97, of Pascagoula went to be with his Heavenly Father Monday, July 14, 2014.

He was born Feb. 18, 1917 in Bay Springs, MS to the late Elijah and Annie Windham King.

Besides his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Lucille (Parker) King; son, Fredrick Dale King; grandson, Scotty King; six brothers; and three sisters.

Mr. King was a member and deacon of Calvary Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family, especially his great grandchildren. He liked to build things with his hands and enjoyed yard work and gardening. Mr. King retired from Ingalls after 34 years as a welder and was a member of Odd Fellows.

He is survived by his son, James (Jean) King; daughter-in-law, Janice King; grandchildren, Kimberly George, Tawana, Dana, Chris, Wayne, and Travis King; great-grandchildren, Charlie, Tristan, Gavin, Layton, and Nolan King.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Holder-Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Sam Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until funeral time. Interment will follow at Serene Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church general fund, 2101 Market Street, Pascagoula MS 39567.
