The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Bald Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Collins was born December 13, 1944, in Guilford County, to the late J.C. Hodgson and Ethel Mozelle Childress Hodgson. She was a retired employee of Unifi, Inc. and attended Bald Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Sandra Kay Collins; brothers, James Hodgson and Jessie Lee Workman; sisters, Gracie Geraldine Cortez and Ethel Marie Farmer and daughter-in-law, Katherine Davis Collins.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Carl Woodie Collins of the home; sons, Bobby Collins and James Collins (Pam); daughters, Brenda Gail Collins, Carol Coleman (Larry) and Sheila Collins; brothers, Junior Cecil Hodgson and Johnny Hodgson (Shirley); eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
