Son of Elmer and Angie Cranmer of Wellsville, NY. He enlisted in the US Army Company G as a Private June 14, 1924 and was discharged June 13, 1925. He then re-enlisted as a Corporal June 18, 1925 and was honorably discharged January 19, 1927.

In the 1930 census he is listed as living in Buffalo, NY and employed as a house painter. He is living with his wife Margaret and children Angie and Norman.

He and Margaret were divorced Sept 8 1938.

He was in Wellsville, NY in 1943 according to his father's obituary.

His last known location was in Buffalo, NY in 1963 according to the obituary of his sister Sadie Cranmer Jones.

His date of death and place of burial was recently discovered by Find A Grave contributor and cousin Brian Zimmer. We hope to have this memorial merged with his duplicate site in Arlington National Cemetery.
