Wanda C. Dixon, 87, formerly of Frackville, a resident of Schuylkill Center, Pottsville, passed away early Sunday morning.
Born Sept. 10, 1926, in Gilberton, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Rose Orzechowski Licholat.
She was a graduate of Frackville High School, Class of 1944.
She worked as a seamstress for the former Model Garment Factory, Frackville, for 41 years before her retirement.
Wanda was a member of Annunciation BVM Roman Catholic Church of St. Joseph Parish, Frackville, and a member of the ILGWU.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Joseph G. Dixon, in 1981; a sister, Mary Licholat; and two brothers, Joseph and Edward Licholat.
Wanda is survived by her son, Joseph S. Dixon and his wife, Maryann, West Grove; two granddaughters, Jennifer Dixon (Yano) and Amanda Dixon, West Grove; a brother, John Licholat, Frackville; a niece, Rose Marie Beck, New Ringgold, and a nephew, Stephen Kaliher, Frackville.
Interment was in St. John Polish National Parish Cemetery, West Mahanoy Township, Frackville. Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville, has charge of arrangements. Visit www.gricoskifuneralhome.com.
