Helen Lucille Winstead, 87, passed away Friday, July 11th, 2014 in Louisville. Mrs. Winstead was born August 5, 1926 in Harlan County to the late William and Molly Perkey Gilbert.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, George Winstead, 6 brothers and 4 sisters.
Helen is survived by her two sons, James Winstead (Sharon) and Gary Winstead (Tammy), and a daughter, Darlene Thompson, three grandchildren, Belinda Plyman, Lauren and Allison Winstead, seven great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Helen's life will be conducted Wednesday, July 16th, 2014 at 10:00 am in Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park.
