Betty Jean Price, age 83 of Quitaque, passed away, Thursday, June 19, 2014. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at First Baptist Church Quitaque with Pastor Chris Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery in Quitaque. Arrangements are under the care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Quitaque.
Mrs. Price was born on January 24, 1931 in Turkey, Texas to the late Leo and Orious Elizabeth (Hill) Stewart. She married Bruce Price on September 1, 1951 in Happy, TX. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church of Quitaque where she worked in the church nursery and preschool classes for thirty years. She was intrumental in working with We the Women on projects such as the downtown lights in Quitaque. Her many talents included china painting which she enjoyed, and created many beautiful works of art. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, playing 42, and working in her yard. Mrs. Price was a devoted, loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter; Christie Ann Price, and three brothers.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Bruce , two daughters; Connie Mullin and husband Norman of Amarillo, Sandy Wilhelm and husband Pat of Happy, two sons; Stan Price and wife Peggy of Turkey, and Steve Price of Dallas. She also leaves behind twelve grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren
