Curtis "Fred" Christian, age 84 of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014. Born December 27, 1929, he was a son of the late Elijah George Christian and Jenny Linkous Christian.
He was a retired coalminer. He loved hunting, fishing, and being with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Maxine (Daisy) Griffith Christian; one daughter, Kathy Lawson; one sister, Margaret Baber; three brothers, Karmit, Carl, and Jim Christian.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Stevenson Robinson Christian; sons, Curtis Fred Christian, Jr. and wife Betty, Harrisville, West Virginia, Timothy Ray Christian and wife, Dottie, Cedar Bluff, Virginia, Ronnie Stevenson and wife Janice, Cedar Bluff, Virginia, Billy Robinson and wife Carolyn, Wytheville, Virginia; daughters, Bonnie Whitt and husband Ross, Chattanooga, Tennessee, Nancy Sargent and husband Jimmy, Salisbury, North Carolina, Patricia Lester and husband Teddy, Salisbury, North Carolina, Carolyn McGlothlin and husband Dahmon, Salisbury, North Carolina, Pam Bandy and husband Rick, Cedar Bluff, Virginia, Lisa Payne and husband Randall, Bandy, Virginia, Judy Short and husband Jason, Wytheville, Virginia; many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 15, 2014 in the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Wayne Mullins and Rev. Cathy Chapeweski officiating. Entombment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum Claypool Hill, Virginia. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
