Mary Ann Maurer Boos

Mary Ann Gertrude Maurer Boos, age 77 of Seguin, passed away on July 13, 2014. Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 15, 2014 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. The recitation of the rosary will be held at St. James Catholic Church on Wednesday July 16, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. with Rev. Gregory J. Nevlud officiating. Interment will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Mary Ann was born in Fredericksburg Texas on July 14, 1936 to Willie P. and Laura (Heinemann) Maurer. Mary Ann worked for Mission Valley Mills for 40 years. She also worked for 6 years as a bus assistant for the Seguin Independent School District. She was an avid bingo player, domino player and loved to go to Coushatta to play the slot machines. She enjoyed traveling to the coast to fish at the pier. She loved spending time at the American Legion with her friends. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Harry Emil Boos, Jr., her brother, Louis John Maurer, sisters, Frances Maurer Ferguson, and Julia Maurer Esquell, and sisters-in-law, Olga Maurer and Gertrude Besier and husband Paul. Survivors include her children, Robert Boos and wife Annetta, Sharon Boos, Susan Linebarger and husband Kenneth (Bucky), and David Boos and wife Kathy; brother, Marcus Maurer; sister, Florence James and husband Arlie; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Maurer and Josie Kneese Lux; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Boos, Darrell Strawn, Kirk Moriarty, James Esquell, Clarence Altwein, Billy James and Michael Maurer. Honorary pallbearers will be James Boos, Larry Boos, Douglas Boos, Russell Boos, Scott Boos, Justin Boos, Christopher Boos, Sheila Boos Spaulding, Christy Strawn, Lisa Moriarty and Rebecca Rhoades. The family would like to thank CIMA Hospice for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. James Catholic Church, 510 S. Camp Street, Seguin, Texas, 78155, or to CIMA Hospice, 300 Landa Street, New Braunfels, Texas, 78130 or to the charity of one’s choice.
