Longtime Duncan resident JEFF ALEXANDER, 75, peacefully ended his fight to remain with family, relatives and friends around 8:30 Friday evening, February 3, 2006, in Duncan Regional Hospital.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronald Boyd officiating. Burial will be in Tatums Cemetery under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.
Jeff was born to Levi and Minnie Alexander on Oct. 21, 1930, near Tatums. He married Dorothy Mae Austin on Nov. 3, 1951.
Known throughout the area for his service to his church and the community, Jeff had been active locally as well as district, state and national levels until the decline of his health in 1995.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years; three daughters, Deborah Smith and husband, Lawrence of Duncan, Phyllis Alexander of Norman, and Arva Peters and husband, Terry of Fort Worth, Texas.
Jeff leaves six grandchildren, Kiley Brown, Adrienne Alexander, Bethany Peters, Kacey Brown, Taryn Peters and Alexandria Peters; and four great-grandchildren.
Other survivors include his sister, Jewell Hogg of Duncan, and a legion of relatives and friends.
Relatives preceding him in death include his father and mother; four brothers, Earl Jr., Walter, Paul and Arteelours; two sisters, Roxanne and her twin; and a son, Jeff Everett, who was stillborn.
