Raymond P. Black, 87 - He loved to take his grandchildren fishing and tell them stories about his childhood. Mr. Black, a resident of Grant, died Friday, April 28, 2017. He was 87. He was born in Section, AL on Jan. 29, 1930 to Jim and Mary Brown Black. His family moved to Grant when he was 4. At the age of 21, he married Martha Smith and moved to Chattanooga, TN. They raised 3 children and lived there until his retirement. They moved back to Grant in 1992. He enjoyed his retirement years by cutting grass as a side job.
