—Mrs, Stephenson, wife of Lafayette Stephenson, died at the house of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robinson, in Washington township, on the 21st of March. She has been an invalid for nearly a year,
and for some months has suffered greatly. She had been taken on a visit home about a week since, and was never able to leave it before her death. She was young, perhaps about twenty-three years of age, and had been married two years. She leaves a husband and one child. Her funeral took place at the frame church in Washington township on Tuesday afternoon.

We have been requested to publish the following obituary of Mrs. Stephenson as the one last week is not considered complete. We give it place cheerfully; Mattie, wife of L. L. Stephenson, died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Erastus Robinson of Ward township, on Monday, March 21, 1887, aged 24 years, 5 months and 3 days. The funeral services were at the M. P. church on Tuesday, Rev. George Robinson of Murray officiating. A large concourse of friends followed her to her last home in Pleasant Ridge cemetery. She was married Nov. 23, 1882, and leaves a sorrowing husband and daughter eleven months old to mourn her departure. Her health had been failing for some time and at her own request she was carried back to her old home about ten days before her death. The visit only proved to be only a preparation for departure. When told that she must soon die she quietly bade her husband and friends good bye and so fell asleep. Her life had been spent in Clarke county. An amiable girl, a dutiful daughter, a loving wife and mother she has left a large circle of friends to mourn her loss.
