With deepest regrets we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Inez was predeceased by the love of her life, husband Dr. Bruce MacKay in 1999, her parents Howard and Gladys Williams and brothers James and Leonard Williams.
She is survived by her four children. Her five grandchildren; four great grandchildren. Heartfelt thanks to Tara for her love, kindness and caring of Nana. Also left to cherish her memory is her sister Margaret Thorpe (Cleve) of Carleton Place, Ontario and many nieces and nephews in Ontario.
Mom was born in Carleton Place, Ontario and was a nursing grad of Toronto General Hospital. Dad and Mom moved to Vancouver during the war where dad was stationed as a Medical Doctor with the Air Force. They later moved to Kamloops in 1946, (Irving Clinic) where they have resided since.
Mom was a Lifetime member of the Kamloops Ladies Afternoon Curling Club, a sport she discovered in her 40's and never looked back. Curling was a passion of hers that even when she stopped playing, the armchair curling was intense and she never missed a shot. She was also a member of the RIH Afternoon Ladies Auxiliary for over 35 years.
Mom was a strong lady, generous and thoughtful to others. Her family meant everything to her but she always had time for and enjoyed her many friends over the years in Kamloops. She has always said, "I have no regrets, I've had a wonderful life and would not change a thing."
The family would like to thank Berwick on The Park staff for her care over the last few years, and Dr's Shirley Sze and Miranda DuPreez, who maintained her health care with dignity and respect.
Inez was a wonderful and loving mother, always a tremendous supporter of all our endeavours and the glue that bound our family.
Once again Mom, you and dad will enjoy another dance to "Stardust". With all our Love.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
Donations to the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation, 311 Columbia Street, Kamloops, BC V2C 2T1 in memory of Inez would be appreciated.
Cremation arrangements entrusted to Schoening Funeral Service, telephone 250-374-1454.
