Francis Bailey (September 3, 1744 – November 1, 1817) was a Revolutionary War printer, publisher and journalist in Pennsylvania from 1771 to 1807.

He began publication of the Lancaster Almanac in Lancaster, PA in 1771 and published the United States Magazine in 1778. In 1781, he became editor of the Freeman's Journal.

In addition to printing editions of the Articles of Confederation and Thomas Paine's Common Sense, he acted as printer for Congress and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

He was the first America publisher of the writings of Emanuel Swedenborg in 1787.

He was originally interred in Old Pine Street Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia where he served as deacon.

He was reinterred in the New Jerusalem Temple which was located on the SE corner of 12th and Sansom (then known as George) Streets in Philadelphia.

Sometime prior to the demolition of the New Jerusalem Temple which had occurred by 1841, he was reinterred in the New Jerusalem Church Burial Ground in Upper Darby, PA. Approximately 1863, a gravestone and footstone were placed to mark his interment.

Sometime prior to the abandonment of the New Jerusalem Church Burial Ground in October 1977, he was reinterred in Mount Zion Cemetery in Collingdale, PA.

At that time, the gravestone was relocated to the property of the Church of the New Jerusalem in Philadelphia, PA.

Upon the sale of the Philadelphia church property in 1985, the gravestone was relocated to the new home of the Church of the New Jerusalem in West Chester, PA.

Approximately 2010, the gravestone was relocated to The Johnny Appleseed Educational Center and Museum located in Bailey and Barclay Halls on the campus of Urbana University in Urbana, OH.
