John "Jack" Young Rinehart died on Friday, Feb. 24, 2012 at the family farm where he was born 90 years ago. Jack was the son of J. Arthur and Mildred Young Rinehart. He was a dedicated, life-long farmer, starting in his early teens. Jack worked the family farm for over 75 years with his brother Bob and more recently with his grandson Scott. Their business centered on poultry, hay, straw, corn and grain.

He was a devoted family man and loved being surrounded by his daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Ruth Hagen Rinehart, whom he married on Oct. 19, 1946, his devoted daughters and their husbands, Susan and (Peter) Hender of Barnegat, and Kathleen and (John) Paderson of Newark, Del. He was especially proud of his grandsons and their wives, Matthew and (Tracy) Hender of Marmora, and Scott and (Danielle) Hender of Annandale, and four great-grandchildren, Kara, Ryland, Morgan and Colby Hender. He is also survived by his brother Robert Rinehart of Macungie, Pa. His sister Helen R. Frazee recently passed away.

Jack was very active in agricultural, civic and church communities. He served on the NJ Fish and Game Council and Hunterdon County Board of Agriculture. He was recognized for service to the NJ Farm Bureau and received a distinguished service award from the State Board of Agriculture. He held positions on the Grain and Forage Association, the NJ Soybean Board, and the Hunterdon County Poultry Association. He was a life-long member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder, Sunday School Superintendent and Youth Leader. Jack was a member and past Master of Stanton Grange and held elected and volunteer positions in Franklin Township government.
