Obituary:
Hettie Brown, age 74, widow of Tom Brown, died Tuesday, August 2, at the Paintsville Clinic. Funeral services were held at the Freewill Baptist Church at Riceville with Rev. Scott Castle and Charlie Lemaster officiating. Born April 6, 1892 in Magoffin County, she was the daughter of Will Pace, Wenatchee, Washington and Mary Patrick of Magoffin County, both deceased. She had lived in Johnson Coutny for many years and was a member at the United Baptist Church. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Malcolm Jackson of Conley, Mrs. Hurshel Blanton, Charleston W.Va., Mrs. James Carroll, Paintsville and Mrs. Curt Bailet, Rochester, Ind. Also surviving are 28 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, four sisters and four brothers. Burial took place in the family cemetery at Swamp Branch with arrangements by the Caudill Funeral Home of Salyersville. Paintsville Herald Wednesday August 17, 1966
