3 children who lived to adulthood:
Mary Jane King (born 27 Nov 1827)
William Riley King (born 28 Jun 1843)
Sarah Ann King (born 30 Aug 1848)

William King died of cholera 3 days after his new son-in-law, William Holt, 24 Aug 1851. They are buried approximately 10 feet apart in north east side of the cemetery.

King Cemetery - Ground for this cemetery was given by William King who died just a few months after purchasing the land in April, 1851, and moving to Effingham County from Morgan County, Indiana. It consists of two acres and the earliest graves were in the mid-1840's. King was a free graveyard and was used for over a hundred years. Many pioneers of the Elliotstown vicinity are buried here.
Early burials in King Cemetery include William King, age 50, for whom the burial ground is named and his son-in-law, William Holt, both victims of cholera in August 1851. Malinda King, widow of William King, lived on the land many years. (Mildred Allard, Effingham Daily News, February 1987)
