Ruth (Koen) Caldwell September 3, 1934 - March 26, 2022

Ruth (Koen) Caldwell 87 of Wellington passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022, at her home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Gene Weinette, pastor officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

She was born September 3, 1934, in Wellington, to Sam A. and Mattie V. Miracle Koen and was a graduate of Wellington High School with the Class of 1951. Ruth married Harold Caldwell on October 24, 1953, in Wellington.

He preceded her in death in 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters Pat Crutcher and Loeva Scott.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she attended the Wesley Sunday School Class and was a member of the Lydia Circle of the UMW. Ruth was a member of the Good Sam's RV Club, a quilting club, and an art painting group. She enjoyed visiting the home bound, singing at the care center each month, and playing cards and marbles at Parkview Assisted Living.

She had a sweet nature, a genuine love for people, and loved telling funny stories. Ruth was a wonderful role model to young women on being a wife and mother. One of her granddaughters when thinking of her wrote have you ever met someone you see Jesus in? Ruth is survived by 2 sons Tommy Caldwell and his wife Kayla of Plainview and Gene Caldwell and his wife Liz of Collinsville; 2 daughters Karen Caldwell of Wellington and Julie Forrester and her husband Virgil of Amarillo; 7 grandchildren Mickey Marshall and Amber, Alan Houchin and Briony, Thomas Houchin and Teri, Robbi Turner and Travis, Lori Volmer and Brandell, Jake Barnett, and Jared Forrester and Amanda; and 18 great grandchildren.
