EMPORIA, Va. - Virginia Taylor Norwood, 84, died February 1, 2006, at Southern Virginia Regional Hospital. She was the widow of Robert C. Norwood Sr. Mrs. Norwood was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a grocery store owner and an avid cook. Survivors include two sons, Robert "Bobby" C. Norwood Jr. of Gaston and Jerry Wane Norwood of Richmond; a sister, Kersey T. Watts of Roanoke Rapids; and her grandchildren. A graveside service was conducted Friday at Greensville Memorial Cemetery, Emporia, conducted by Dr. John Mason. Hockaday Funeral Home was in charge.
