Ford, Gregory Ballou age 55, formerly of St. Louis, lost his courageous battle against ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) after 18 years. He passed away peacefully July 10, 2014 at his home in Bonita Springs, Florida with his beloved caregiver and devoted dog by his side. He was the beloved father of Geoffrey David Ford and Jennifer (Jeffrey) Cowan. He had the pleasure of meeting and holding his infant granddaughter, Hattie Grace Cowan. All live in St. Louis. Greg is survived by his father, Henry Ray, (Judy) Ford of Bonita Springs and mother, Shirley (Larry) Voyles of Plano, Texas. He was the dear brother of Bryan Fisher Ford of Bonita Springs and of Sheila Marie Ford of St. Louis. He loved his long time caregiver and companion, Kathy Remmenga. Greg had many wonderful friends, was an 8 year veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in Russian Intelligence and worked tirelessly fundraising and raising awareness for ALS research and a cure. Services: Visitation Sun., July 13, 47 p.m. at BOPP Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood. Funeral Monday, July 14, 10 a.m. at Kirkwood Baptist Church, 211 N. Woodlawn (at Adams), 63122. Entombment, Bellerive Cemetery, with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations to the ALS Association, 1275 K Street NW, Suite 250, Washington, DC 20005.
