David Russell Foust, Sr., age 65, of Hammond, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 6, 2014.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Survived by his beloved wife, Sharon (Henson) of 47 years;
three children: David R. (Lynne) Foust, Jr.

Kristi Perez;
9 grandchildren: Tyler, Anthony, Alex, Clara, Cayden, Maelyn, Shawn, Christeen and Makenzi;
2 brothers: Tom Foust and Jim (Sue) Foust;
1 sister, Carolyn (Mike) May;
Numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, David B. and Mary Elizabeth Foust; one brother and one sister.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor Joe Best officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation on Thursday, July 10, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home.
Russ was a graduate of Hammond Tech High School, class of 1968. He was employed at Dave's Refrigeration for several years and more recently at Standard Furniture in Hammond. Russ was an avid Nascar fan and he enjoyed racing at Raceway Park in Calumet Park, IL; where he won the Mini Stock Championship in 1989.
Russell was affectionately known by his friends as Russ, Rusty or Rusty baby. He dearly loved his family and his grandchildren were the "love" of his life. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends.
