He was a native of Union County, Ark. [sic Union Parish, LA], and had resided in Winnsboro for 42 years. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include three sons, Aden Mitcham, Spearsville, James Mitcham, DeValls Bluff, Ark., Travis Mitcham, Richardson, Tex.; three daughters, Mrs. Clara Roberts, West Monroe, Mrs. Leslie Bardin, Winnsboro and Mrs. Elaine Smith, DeValls Bluff, Ark.; one brother, Ernest Mitcham, Strong, Ark.; 19 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
