He was awarded for his bravery in rescuing a pilot from his burning airplane.
Moved to Genesee, Idaho with parent's and brother in 1937.
Worked at the French Creek Camp for the Civilian Conservation Corps. He also worked for the U.S. Forest Service.
Edna & James married Sept. 6, 1949, in Lewiston, Idaho. They had 5 children. Three boys and two girls.
Preceded in death by wife, Edna; a grandaughter Jill Andrews; his three brother - Mike, Jim, and Tom; his two sisters - Kristi Crooks, and Sue Andrews.
