Irene was the Chaplain of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #357, and had also served as treasurer, Secretary, President, and other positions. She had many hobbies, and was always busy. She loved helping others.
Irene was survived by four children, ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Paul G. Welch Sr., a daughter, Mary Kay Simar, an infant daughter, Janice Mary Welch, a grandson, F. Jon Simar, three brothers, and a sister.
