Daughter of Zebedee Soule and Priscilla Crapo Soule of Waterville, Maine.

Her father's Soule line goes directly back to Pilgrim and Mayflower passenger George Soule.

Wife of William Ellis; married in 1844, they had 4 children.

Celia Ellis' death certificate lists her place of death as Ripley, Somerset, Maine.


Her brother, Sullivan Soule, moved west to Wisconsin with his first wife and his father & mother. He came back to visit family in 1876, traveling in 2 horse drawn wagons from Wisconsin to Philadelphia for the centennial then up through New England. It was a 6 month journey. He stopped in many Maine towns to visit old friends and relatives, including a visit with his Maine sisters, Celia Soule Ellis in St Albans, and Miranda Soule Sawyer in Skowhegan.
