Juanita Beatrice Waters

Juanita Beatrice Waters, 83, of Hanceville, died Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Hanceville Nursing Home.
She was born in Jefferson County on November 17, 1926. She worked in sales and as an advisor for Merle Norman Cosmetics. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cullman and was a member of the Dogwood Garden Club for more than 25 years; the Quest Club for more than 20 years and served in most every capacity in both clubs. She worked in the 4th grade Sunday School Department for more than 40 years; sang in the Chancel Choir for more than 20 years and worked with Women on Missions at least 50 years. She was active in all facets of missions in her church and worked with Christmas Love as long as her health permitted. She deeply loved her God and country. She won the Ms. Hanceville Nursing and Rehab Pageant in 2009 and represented the nursing home at the state level at the Wynfrey Hotel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Soloman "Sollie" Reese and Pernia Beatrice Umphrey Reese; her husband, C.O. Waters; a sister, Mary Ellen Clark and a grandson, Chad Culver.
She is survived by one son, Dewayne (Sandy) Waters of Hanceville; one daughter, Denise (Dennis Martin) Culver of Hanceville ; two sisters, Mable Glover of Morris and Carolyn (Charles) Hale of Cullman; five grandchildren, Ryan (Courtney) Waters, Todd (Lila) Waters, Jamie Martin, Brandon Martin and Brandi Martin; four great grandchildren, Lili Waters, Cloe Waters, Reese Waters and Whitt Waters and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and very dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Cullman Building Fund.
Arrangements are being handled by Hanceville Funeral Home, 100 Michelle St. NW Hanceville, AL 35077, where the family will receive friends on Saturday, March 6, 2010 from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Edwin Hayes officiating. Interment will be in Jones Chapel Cemetery.
