Amaday J. (Andy) Damato, 77, passed away Thursday, November 26, 1998 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. World War II veteran and longtime member of St. James the Less Catholic Church, Amaday was also a member of the S.F.I. Lodge and Amici D'oro Club. He retired from Jeffrey Manufacturing Company after 46 years of service. Preceded in death by parents Luigi and Incoronata Damato, brothers Nick Pace and Joe Demato, sister Jean Circelli, nephew Robert Pace. Survived by beloved wife of 52 years, Mary J. Damato, loving children, Laurence (Deborah) Damato, and Elaine (Shawn) Logsdon, precious granddaughters, Lauren and Kelsey Damato, grandson and best buddy David Tripp. Also survived by sisters Christina Tempio, Monica (Carl) Ventresca, Josephine (Phillip) Volpe, Jeannette (Albert) Squillocioti, Manucla Damato and Elizabeth Perone; sisters-in-law, Helen Pace, Emma Jean Demato and Jennie Gasparollo, brother-in-law Dan (June) Zito. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Family will receive friends at JOHN QUINT & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1177 West Fifth Ave. Saturday 7-9 p.m. & Sunday 2-7 p.m. Rosary 5:00 p.m. Sunday. S.F.I. Service 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Amici D'oro Service 3:00 p.m. Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m. Monday, St. James the Less Catholic Church 1652 Oakland Park Ave. Father James Dugal officiating. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
