Steve attended schools in Harrah, OK and completed his high school education in Memphis, TN. He was an alumnus of Southwestern College of Christian Ministries in Bethany, OK. He worked as a farmer and rancher and was a driver for NALCO and OKX Logistics. Steve and his father, Rev. Elbert Savage, were co-founders and pastors of Trinity Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Newalla, OK. Steve was an ordained minister in the International Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Roy Elbert Savage Jr. and Florence Naomi Savage.
Survivors include his brother, Rev. Ronnie Savage and wife, Lavada of Lexington, KY; nephews, Ryan and Cynthia Savage of Murfreesboro, TN, and Jerrod Savage of Lexington, TN; 2 nieces, Mandy Savage Hutcherson & Jenny Savage Johnson, both of Lexington, TN; 2 aunts, Lucille Thompson and Katherine Savage, both of Bethany, OK; 8 great nieces and nephews and cousins and many friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 12, 2014, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK, with Rev. Dwight Burchett, Rev. Terry Trammell and Rev. Ronnie Savage officiating. Interment will follow at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Newalla, OK.
