Jane O. Cole, 77, of Ashford, CT, loving wife of 51 years to Gordon M. Cole, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2014. She was born in White Plains, NY, daughter of the late Walter and Leah (Butterill) Collins. Jane proudly served as a military wife for 20 years at Camp Pendleton, CA, and moved here to Connecticut after her husband's retirement from the Marine Corps. Jane retired from the State of Connecticut having worked as a special needs assistant. Besides her husband, Jane will be missed by her five children, Marcie and her husband Jeff, Christopher, Jennifer and her husband Bill, Daniel, and Matthew and his wife Jen; eight grandchildren, Dustan, Samantha, Dalton, Ariel, William, Henry, Grace, and Cameron; great grandson, Jeremiah; and her sister, Beryl Leslie of Vancouver, Canada. Jane was a member of the Christian Fellowship Church of Scotland, and the V.F.W. Post No. 9990 of Stafford Woman's Auxiliary. She served her community in many ways as a Sunday school teacher, and was especially proud of helping those with special needs. She was an avid scrap-booker and knitter. Her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren, and great grandson. She dedicated her life ensuring her prodigy would have a good life and that they would all come to have a personal relationship with Christ like she had. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 10 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT.
