GALVESTON — Perry Eugene Wells Sr., 57, departed this life on Wednesday, April 26, 2000, at his residence. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2000, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of E.R. Johnson Family Mortuary, with the Rev. Paul Wingate Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 5, beginning at 4:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends during a quiet hour from 7:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at the Chapel.
Mr. Wells was born in Bryan, Texas, on February 15,1943, lived in Galveston numerous years and was an construction laborer with Local 80 for twenty five years.
He is survived by his son, Perry E. Wells, Jr.; daughters, Ivory Beck, Doris Wells and Tawana Wells; nine grandchildren; father, John Wells; mother, Arquilla Johnson; step father Andrew Johnson; brother, Kermit Harris; three nephews; other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Perry E. Wells, Jr., Mark Clark, Kermit Harris, T. Webb, Jeffery Tubbs land Alonzo Hall.
