Shannon Denise Sanders, age 46, of Navarre, FL left the bonds of earth on Sunday, July 6, 2014, after a valiant struggle with ovarian cancer. Shannon left life as she entered it, with her mother holding her. She was born June 28, 1968 in Elizabethton, TN to Anita Griffin Sanders and Raymond Rex Sanders.
Shannon graduated high school at Heidelberg High School.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lillian Avant Griffin and Herman Arlie Griffin; her paternal grandparents, Bonnie Caruthers Buford and James Carl Buford; and uncles, Alan Arlie Griffin and Donnie Herman Griffin.
Survivors include her beloved mother, Anita Griffin Sanders; her father, Raymond R. Sanders; her brother, Alan C. (Andrea) Buford; nieces, Julianna Rae Hendley, Janelle Buford, Sarah Buford, Macy Buford, Kaitlyn Rae Sanders and Shandii Harrison; her nephews, Matthew Buford, Steven Romej and Marc Romej; sister-in-law and friend, Lynn Sanders; her aunt, Jacqueline Hale Griffin; her cousins, Alan York Griffin, Lauren Griffin Jackson and Jonathan Griffin; her stepbrother, Raymond L. Sanders; stepsister, Debra K. Prewitt; and many other friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 19, 2014 in McDonough, GA at 2:00 - 6:00 PM. Friends and family are encouraged to attend her 'Celebration of Life'.
