(special thanks to Dennis Brooke for the following info) James Benefield has nothing to do with Camp Chase and did not die there. Make no mistake these men were all brothers but only one, John Benefield died at Camp Chase, while the other four brothers do not have Find A. Grave memorials, but they had nothing to do with Camp Chase. James B. Benefield was noted as absent and in the hospital since December 29, 1863. And he was noted as dying at the Atlanta Hospital. He too may have been taken to Oxford?
